Life between the villages of Pácin in Hungary and Veľký Kamenec in Slovakia has always been interconnected in many ways. The proper road infrastructure was necessary to maintain this close relationship. However, the road connection between these municipalities was not just a local matter, as the border crossing is popular and used by the citizens of the whole region. The condition of the road was not satisfactory and was not safe for efficient and comfortable passenger transport. The aim of the project was the reconstruction of the roads leading to the former border crossing and the removal of the customs buildings here. The goal of the reconstruction was to improve the technical parameters of the road and increase passenger safety.
